Not an avid reader of romances, I read this author because it's a man writing under a woman's name. The difference I notice is that the male character is more flawed than those in women's romance novels. He and the heroine fight and squabble throughout. This one is set in an oil camp in western Canada, so an interesting setting.
Of the 3 I've read by V. Gordon, this is one I liked the least, probably because I recognize that in "real life" that man would be a lousy husband. But then I guess we can't expect reality from romance novels, huh?

Although she looked about seventeen, Kelly was well qualified for partnership in her father's Western Canada catering business. Self-confidence wasn't a problem, but the arrogant owner of the mining camp where she worked kept challenging her authority! Grey Scofield and Kelly just couldn't work together, sad as Kelly was to realize that fact. Though she couldn't stand the man, she had, unfortunately developed a sort of addiction to him. . . .
