Wolf at the Door was a decent read. It started out slowly, but picked up the pace half-way through. It's basically about a group of fanatics who call themselves the Light of Truth, threatening to unveil the paranormal world of The Others. The Others are trying to find them before it's too late. I thought that the romance between Quinn (a lupine) and Cassidy (a foxwoman) was pretty bland. They were fine as characters, though they could have been a little more developed. I felt that there was no spark between them and I was told they feel in love, rather than shown. The plot was decent enough and I'll read the next one in the series.

The first half of this book was pretty good. Love the chemistry between Quinn and Cassie. BUT... the second half was a whole other story... I had to force myself to finish it. Skimmed some as the writing became repetitive. And the story line IMO unraveled. I had a hard time with the many times the main characters were fighting with the "bad guys" and shifted/changed into their were-creatures, changing back into human form being naked at times then it being said they had clothes, then being naked again. The ending just didn't make much sense to me, the reason for the secondary bad guys, the why of why they were bad, what they wanted with Cassie and Quinn in the first place never really made sense. I understand the story continues with more books, but I won't be reading on to find out what happens with the other bad guys. I really didn't care near the end what was going to happen, there was way too much dialogue, even the intimate scenes were a bit eye-roll worthy.

This was a very good book. There were moments in this book that had me laughing out loud. I even loved the supporting characters.

I've had this book sitting around for awhile, and just now picked it up. I'm glad I did, because it reeled me in right away! I finished it in 2 days, and probably would have finished it even faster than that had I not gone to work, but hey...have to pay bills!

Can't wait to read the second book in the series, She's No Faerie Princess, as soon as I get it!

It was a fun easy read. Warren tends to repeat herself a bit so it can get a little annoying. She seems to really like the Little Red Riding Hood and Big Bad Wolf analogy. She uses it in "Big Bad Wolf" at least. The characters are fun, especially the side ones.

Even though this is the first of the series, the later books really belong first so it can be a little confusing. It's because some of the other books started out as shorter stories and she rewrote them into books. So if you are the type that needs to read things in order, you'll have to read some of the reviews or go on the Warren's website to see if you can figure out which book goes first chronologically. She also has a free short story on her website about Richard.

Overall, this was a decent book. Nothing spectacular but worth the read.

Great read & great series. Start with Fantasy Fix and work your way to Wolf at the Door. Her first books are available in ebook from Elloras Cave, the latest two are available from St. Martins.

It took me a while to pick this out of the "to be read pile", but once i started it i really enjoyed it. There is nothing extraordinary or different about this series, except it adds a lot of other paranormal species than you usually find. Brownies, shifters, gnomes, vampires, werewolves, etc. But this book had me laughing out loud. It has a great sense of humor and a charming love story mixed in with the drama, thrills, and the crux of the story...defeating the enemy. It reminded me a little of the Mercy Thompson or the Sookie Stackhouse series. I look forward to the rest of the series, each book looks to be a different paranormal charcter.

I didn't expect to, but I really liked this book. My interest was peaked constantly right until the end which was action packed. Loved all the characters, although I found one small flaw that bothered me about one of them, but it passed. Have put the rest of the series on my WL.

The interaction between the two main characters in this book will make it worth the read. Christine Warren sets up alot of the bigger plot lines in her other books with this one.

Very good introduction to the world of the Others! Warren writes in a fun, quick style that lures you in without becoming too complicated. Good beginning to a series and an author I will add to the collection!

Pretty doggone boring. Even the sex was blah. I put this one down wothout finishing it, and that says a lot. I will usually struggle through inthe hopes that a book will get into the groove later on. This one just wasn't worth it.

It's not science fiction. It's not modern gothic fiction. It's not even erotic fiction. So what is it? It is nearly a hundred thousand words in search of a story to tell. It did presented a completely unique and compelling view of lycanthropy and werewolves. That much was true. Granted, there are none of the tired cliches found in the more pornographic adult books. And unfortunately there is also none of the raw power and pure understanding of the human psyche. The erotic scenes are excessively long, not that 'hot' and completely unnecessary as they are for ummm for satisfaction only and not required for 'bonding'. They take up nearly a third of the book and add nothing to the reader's understanding of either of the characters or the current crisis they find themselves in, to to the story as a whole.

SPOILERS: The grand finale's twist was to name the bitch granny as a collaborator to the Inquisitors of Light. And have the said BITCH Granny actually turn out a helpless victim, that must be rescued, was weak at best. And then have the rescuers rescued (hello twist 2) was obvious since the first page of the end. I was disappointed with the ending climax. The bad guys were more powerful than the good guys, then all of a sudden the good guys won. I was shaking my head thinking how did that happen? Over all it was not too bad, just not the best either. Solid 3 Stars I think. Easy solid uncomplicated read.

This book is about otherkin and their community. A werewolf has come from Ireland to America, to reiterate to the New York council that it's time to reveal themselves to the world. The other side of this mingling of were's is that this Irish wolf finds his life mate who happens to be a fox woman. There's steaminess, sarcasm, and quite a delectable amount of good writing in this book. I enjoy the author, and would love to read more of her selections. If you like fantasy, were-animals, sex, and humor, then you'll positively enjoy this book.

Brava for Hot Steamy Sex! It's so great that it didn't take long for it to happen either. The storyline is interesting. The human characters remind me of my true friends or at least people I would want in my life. The non-human characters although powerful and fierce are great humanitarians. I find myself yelling 'Hell No!' or Go for it! as I would at a movie screen. This is a page- turner. (Oh did I mention the Hot Steamy Sex?)

From the back: Sullivan Quinn is in the U.S. on a mission, to warn his Other brethren of a shadowy group willing to use murder and mayhem to bring them down. But one whiff of this Foxwoman's delicious honeysuckle fragrance and he knows that she is more than a conquest-she is his mate.
