The Wizard of Oz Author:L. Frank Baum, Charles Santore (lllustrator) Here is Charles Santore's personal and dazzling interpretation of L. Frank Baum's inspired fairy tale. It is a highly visual interpretation, but one that is faithful to the original story. The text has been carefully condensed so that virtually no language other than Baum's has been used. — Santore takes us on a journey of colors, as ... more »well as a journey through lands and adventures, from the muted opening scenes of Kansas, through the sunlit trip on the yellow brick road, interspersed with lush dark forest scenes, into the sparkling bejeweled greens of the Emerald City, and climaxing in the spectacularly rich ruby-red of the throne room of Glinda the Good Witch.« less
When a cyclone hits her Kansas home, Dorothy and her dog Toto, are whisked away to the magical land of Oz. To find her way back to Kansas, she must follow the yellow brick raod to where the great Wizard lives. Together with her companions the Tin Woodsman, the Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion, Dorothy embarks on a strange and enchanting adventure, and a journey that takes her to the City of Emeralds.
This is a beautiful edition of this book/story. It has a few pictures in it and looks like a collectors book. My book has never even been used so it's like new.
