This says it is book five, but the action seems to take place before books 2-4. While each book stands alone, the main character of Wizard is mentioned in at least two other books in the series in events that take place AFTER those of this book. Not all that confusing, but something to keep in mind.

Love, love , love it!! This is a really good series. This was the first book I read out of this series (didn't know it was the 4th until I was almost done reading it) and am so glad I found it. The characters are awesome, as are the setting, action, dialoge, etc. The best one of the series-in my opinion.

Wish I'd read them in order, but this fourth installment is a good way to start. I really enjoyed it.

You can't go wrong with Mercedes Lackey. This book was excellent. Characters are believable for the time they are in and the story line is fun. I stayed up late to finish it. Mercedes has several books, each starring a different elemental master. And, in the end, the boy doesn't get the girl.

Rather different from M. Lackey's other Elemental masters books I've ready, a welcome deviation.
