Kernick is an author that I'll drift too at times and usually I like his books but this one? nope

Sometimes I'll give a pros and cons for a book but this one I have nothing under the pros, the cons? lots of them

This might be introducing a new character, Ray Mason, and I'd try another to see where it goes

I think the main story was supposed to be the terrorism plot but yet I think it's really that Mason is the target from something in his past

There are too many side stories, the two main characters, Ray Mason and Jane Kinnear, both had flashbacks from their pasts so it goes off in a different direction than the main story too many times, maybe it is necessary but I found it boring

Since it is about terrorism there are so many names and places that you can't pronounce that for me it is just a chore trudging through each page with such ridiculous names

I did make it through the book but it was a chore, there are just too many descriptions of fighting, car chases, kung fu, on and on and I got very tired of pages and pages of that so I did some skipping over a lot of that stuff

I'm sure there will be a lot that will love this book but I just didn't think it was one of his better ones.
