The back-story of the heroine saving the hero's nephew from kidnappers is interesting...but only lasted four pages. The rest of the book was painful to read. The hero is an overbearing alpha male who knows everything. Though I have enjoyed many of Krentz's books, this one was a wallbanger for me.

Another entertaining book from JAK and I didn't figure out the villain until it was revealed. I wish it was longer though.

Not your typical modern romance. Don't be turned off by the occult sounding title.

This was my 1st Jayne Ann Krentz, but definitely not my last!

Very cute story. Romance and not really about Witchcraft. Another good Jayne Ann books from her beginning...

I think if you like Krentz, you'd like this one. But I am sick of her macho men and stuffy women in plots that depend on miscommunication.

A good romantic suspense read. It's about this woman who finds a rose with a needle through its heart. Someone is out to get Kimberly Sawyer.

A single bloodred rose-with a needle through its heart-is left on her doorstep. A hooded figure wielding a sacrificial dagger watches from beyond her window. Someone wants Kimberly Sawyer to feel very afraid.
And they're succeeding. They've driven the successful mystery writer to do something she rarely does-ask for help. But maybe that's part of the plan. Maybe someone wants Kim to stay at Darius Cavenaugh's Napa Valley vineyard for a reason. Is she walking into a trap or into the arms of a man who promises to protect her?

Why is someone trying to scare Kimberly Sawyer by leaving a single bloodred rose--with a needle through its heart--on her doorstep?? The successful mystery writer is finally driven to ask for help, which is something she seldom does. Now she must decide whether she's walking into a trap or into the arms of a man who loves and wants to protect her. Great read!!

Mystery writer Kimberly Sawyer received a single blood-red rose with a needle thrust into its heart -- and she was terrified. Then, just as she remembered Darius Cavenaugh's promise to help her anytime, anywhere, he appeared at her door. How had he known she needed him? Was it the deep, intuitive intimacy of a soul mate . . . or witchcraft?
