The FIRST book in a great new series. Tal, a disheartened lawyer has gone back to her southern home town to lick her wounds. Great character and great plot . Has similarities to the Margaret Maron Judge Deborah Knott series

Big-time secrets seethe beneath the surface of small-town life in this absorbing new series feagturing Tal Jefferson, a former attorney struggling to hold her own against the ghosts of the past, and a brutal crime that could seal her fate.

This is first in a series and I really enjoyed the all-together very human main character, Talbot Jefferson - a bourbon-drinking female lawyer.

Good, quick mystery. Lots of interesting characters. Tal, the main character, has lots of baggage. Will be interesting to see if more light is shed into her past in upcoming books.

This was a really different story. Many characters and each one was so well described. It's a who-done-it but so much more. Tracy Dunham did not give anything away. She wove the people and the story so beautifully.
