Based on one of the author's family stories.
On a small farm in 1932, 12 year old Lily is convinced her older sister, Emily, is the favorite. When Lily finds out Great Aunt Nell will be visiting from India, Lily tries to become her favorite. But Aunt Nell refuses to choose a favorite, treating both girls equally. In the coming weeks, Lily learns that not even Aunt Nell can smooth away all her troubles.
