Jenny's friend, Chloe, is totally crushing on rock star Cody Tucker. She knows everything there is to know about him. When she sees Jenny's ex-BFF, Addie, wearing a new concert T-shirt that isn't available yet, she's curious how she came by it.

Addie likes to show off, and soon Jenny overhears her telling another Pop that her dad's company is representing Cody on his next tour. Addie makes it sound like her dad and Cody are tight. Well, when Jenny and Addie find themselves both on the Winter Dance Committee, and Jenny suggests Addie can get her dad to ask Cody to perform at their dance, Addie withdraws and scowls at Jenny.

Little does Jenny realize that Addie's dad doesn't have the inside track to Cody that she led others to believe. When "Bring Your Child to the Office Day" coincides with Cody's visit to the same office, the two girls hatch a plan to get close to Cody to ask him to sing at their dance.

Jenny again has to work with her ex-BFF to accomplish something for the good of the group. If they are successful, the hottest star will be at their dance. If they can't get to Cody, they'll have to face everyone together. What will happen?

WISH UPON A STAR is another fun installment in the HOW I SURVIVED MIDDLE SCHOOL series. With helpful hints and quizzes thrown in, the series is like reading a teen magazine, only with a lot more substance. Though this is part of a series, readers don't have to have read previous books to know what is going on.
