Chadwick does wonderful research for her story and explains her approach and that research at the novel's end. This romantic rendition of the lives of two men and their wives is a good but not outstanding read. Nevertheless, it is an enjoyable and easy read.

I did think that that some of the characters could have been better developed. The best character was Matilda. I truly liked this one. Fans of the author will applaud this effort. The writing style is smooth and flowing.
