Libby is a doctor and she thinks that she has killed her abusive husband so she leaves everthing behind to start a new life somewhere else.
Matt is the sheriff of Deer Creek and he keeps being drawn to Libby. She is mysterious and she has managed to worm her way into his heart with her compassion and caring nature. Libby finds herself attracted to the one man that could send her to jail or worse yet she still finds herself drawn to him.

This is a great story with plenty of emtions and wonderful characters. Maureen Mckade is truly a talented author and you don't want to miss this book.

Dr. Libby O'Hanlon believes she has killed her abusive husband, so she flees. Hiding her identity and profession, she accepts the position of schoolteacher in the town of Deer Creek. She meets Sheriff Matt Brandon and tries to keep her distance until a an abused boy brings the reluctant couple together. They discover love, but then Libby's husband shows up and once again attempts to destroy her life. McKade delivers a gentle tale of love and courage in her debut novel.
