I read "Circle of Gold" and "Woman Hater" before this one and you basically have the same story and characters (put in a different setting). I think the characters even drive the same car and have the same dialogue. Very disappointing. What's worse is that Bryan is such a dirty old man. I usually don't mind a huge age gap, even when it is 16 years but when Bryan kept refering to Carla as the "Little girl" or "Little one" and gets off on her innocence and virginity, it was disgusting. YUCK! I wanted to take a shower right after reading it just to wash off his grime. It's a pretty sleezy story for one that doesn't have any steamy love scenes.
Absolutely hated it.

Thief of Hearts
Charismatic Phoenix mayor Bryan Moreland had already won the devotion of his constitutents, and was well on the way to bringing reporter Carla Maxwell tohis side...until she found out that the heart-stoppingly handsome leader wasn't all he claimed to be. Rumor had it the popular politician was an embezzler. It was just a rumor. Carla told herself. As a reporter she'd have to get to the bottom of it; as a woman, she wanted nothing more than to lose herself in sexy Mayor Moreland's arms. Or was that exactly where he wanted her, for reasons other than love and desire??
