Being a "horse person" myself, I was immediately aware of Toni Leland's passion for horses in her book, Winning Ways. Her strong compassion for horses came through in her writing. She is clearly knowledgeable about the racing and breeding culture and used this understanding to craft the plot of her novel. Although the human passion and romance was a bit too sensual to suit my personal taste, she stayed within guidelines that would not dismay most of today's readers. The mystery held my attention and kept me guessing until the end.

I promised I would read and review another of your books. It took me a while to get one! I hope you are more pleased with this review from another horse lover. Mysteries and horses are two of my passions as well.
