Absolutely love this book! For every child at heart or animal lover out there. Because Of Winn Dixie is a very touching story and just proves to you that animals can be best friends too.
This was the first book i read cover to cover. This book started it all. I was only in the 5th grade, the school was giving these books out for free and i love it. I owe every reading expirience i have to this book. Its a very good book, if it could captivate my mind at 10 years old.
A wonderful uplifting story about making friends in a new town with the help of a stray dog named Winn-Dixie. It made me laugh and it made me cry...to me that is a good read :)
A time gone by and excellently recalled by the author. Innocence, unconditional love staunchly upheld between a child and pet - no other relationship comes close.
This was an amazing book for me to read. I saw the movie and was intrigued, so I wanted to read the book. It is beautifully well-written, and I would love to know someone else gets to enjoy it.(:
Wonderful, sweet and lovable. This book exceeded my expectations and is one of my all-time favorites! (I know it's supposed to be a children's book, and my 6 & 7-year-olds loved it too) but it's just so endearing.
Kate Dicamillo does a wonderful job in this book, and completely meets the standards she has set within her other books.
Because of Winn-Dixie does in no way fail to be exciting, fun to read, or interesting for adults, young adults, and children. Wonderful book for children to begin reading chapter books with, and also great to read to children at bedtime. They'll fall completely in love with Winn-Dixie, and her human India Opal.
I loved this book at 17, my younger brother enjoyed this book at 12, my little sister adored it at 6, and my mother thought it was fabulous (but I'll keep her age secret!).
This book is the entire reason we purchased more of Dicamillo's books, and would've sooner if we would've known they were so great! I'd recommend to any animal lovers, or people who enjoy a good story of friendship and loyalty.
I, for some reason have never seen the movie (not much of a tv person) so I listened to it on my travels to work. It's the story of a preacher's daughter and how Winn-Dixie and her met up as well as all of their adventures.(I don't want to give too much of the story away). It's a cute story and I enjoyed it and I'm sure you will too especially if you love dogs.
