The writing is flowing and engaging. Tamisin is a mature heroine and surprisingly solves diplomatic and political problems as more of an adult, then her 2000+ year old fairy queen mother, who comes across as a blend of self absorbed 13 year old with permanent temper-tantrum, (a.e. poorly done). The king of goblins is rather flat and a convenient figure to complete the story. Cousin Nico was well done, I hated him from the begging for being so mean. His mother Lidia was sketchy and her meanness was poorly reasoned out. Over all it was an interesting read, but it has room for improvement. It is and average YA read.

Tamisin has always recognized that she's a bit odd and doesn't quite fit in. Her appearance and the fact that she sees things others don't has always set her apart.

But she's shocked when she suddenly grows wings and is kidnapped and taken to a world where goblins and fairies exist. She'll soon learn that many things, even love, aren't all that they appear to be at first.

From the author that brought you the fun-loving THE TALES OF THE FROG PRINCESS series comes yet another magical and enthralling read. The fantasy elements are strong in this book, but so are many modern influences. The mix is both inviting and up-to-date, and the tale engaging as Tamisin struggles to find her place in her new world.

Although some solutions to certain problems may seem to come a little too quickly, WINGS is a wonderfully confident and enchanting read.
