By far one of the most detailed memoirs I've ever read. The writing style is lyrical and easily carries the story through childhood and difficult events experienced by the author. There are many places in the book I had to reread paragraphs just to comprehend the intricacy of his descriptions (both people and places). Well worth reading. My copy literally disintegrated after about 10 years.
