Amy Bright is Destiny, Ohios bookstore owner, cat care giver and the local matchmaker. She is helping her two best girlfriends prepare for their upcoming weddings, while trying to get her new cat Austen acquainted with her old cat Mr. Knightley. In the midst of all this her best guy friend, Logan, is going through a tough time and she is trying to get him to get his life back in order. But in an unexpected moment Logan kisses her and changes how she sees him and herself. If that wasnt enough to keep these characters busy, a ghost from the past pops up and changes everything.
I love this series and I was really excited to read Amys happily ever after. This book was next to impossible to set down and at about 2 am last night/this morning I had a 15 minute debate with myself about whether or not I should stay up all night and finish reading. Finally, the fact that I had family portraits today won out, after deciding red, puffy and tired eyes wouldnt look good, I had to set it aside. But even after I went to bed, I couldnt get Amy and Logan out of my head.
Logan is a bit of an ass and I at times I wanted to jump through the pages and punch him in the nose, or the crotch. He could be so sweet and caring one minute, then a clueless, spineless, jackass the next. It was frustrating. The character of Anna was also a source of anxiety for me. I really tried to sympathize, to empathize with her, but I really couldnt. She was selfish and self-centered and I wanted her to go back from whence she came! I could have done without her interference in this story, and only at the very end did I ever get even the mildest of lukewarm feelings for her. I am guessing she will be starring in her own Destiny novel one day soon, I am sure Ms. Blake will make me like her then.
Amys heart is pure and to watch her finally fall in love was as sweet and as hard as I thought it would be. Her road to happily ever after wasnt an easy one. But in the end all the heartache and struggles pay off.

I absolutely LOVE this series! I have so been looking forward to reading Amy and Logan's story, and it was worth the wait!
I agree with Cherise's review - Anna got on my very last nerve with her attitude, and I, too, have a feeling the next book is gonna be about her. I'm also thinking that Duke Dawson may end up being the perfect match for Anna.
It's been awhile since I've cried while reading, but I had tears in my eyes more than once with this one. In some ways, I could identify with Amy, and that made her story even more real.
Too bad it will be 6-8 months before I can get my next Destiny "fix", but I bet it will definitely be worth the wait, too!

Amy Bright always cheerfully lends a helping hand, whether she is playing matchmaker, caring for stray cats, or helping her friends with their weddings. She and Logan Whitaker have been friends since they were small. That is one reason she is comforting him after his firefighting job takes a tragic turn. The other reason is she is in love with him and is too shy to tell him. So, Amy comes up with the idea of sending Logan anonymous love letters, telling him how she really feels. But when a woman from Logan's past comes back to town, Logan thinks she may be the one behind the letters.
I absolutely loved the first half of this book and thought Amy and Logan were a great match. But the second half of the book let me down. Amy was sometimes a bit of a nag, and Logan just drove me nuts with his attitude and being clueless about Amy's feelings...even after she told him how she felt. I wanted to slap him. And, I don't know if I like the new character, Anna, who has returned to Destiny. The next book is about her and I'll see if she improves in that book. My rating: 4 Stars.

I was looking forward to reading Amy's book. Unfortunately disappointed. Their friendship is brought up over and over.
"...felt all the years of their friendship stretching between them..."
"He treasured their friendship..."
",,,her friend for her whole life..."
"...lifelong friends..."
Yes I GET IT!
I hated Logan romancing someone else. This love triangle was just, no. Logan was self absorbed; and frankly an asshole for the majority of the book (IMO).
What kept this from being a one star, was Amy's progression from being a doormat and passive to being more confident and sticking up for herself. Amy eventually realized she was worth it and that's a good lesson for all of us.
Amy was also likeable because she was "average." So many of us are just average; and that's okay. Here is a salute to all of us average folks!
The other character I did like was Anna. I thought she got the short end of the stick in this one and look forward to her story in the next (and last) book.
This has to be one of the cheesiest lines ever: "God, honey, I'm gonna come. I'm gonna come in you."
Best: "And she was worth so much more."
