I really enjoyed this novel by Haynes. The back cover is a little deceiving to me... it makes the story sound like it revolves around Willem Fremont and his anxiety disorder... but really I think his storyline plays back-up to Leah and Bruno Till's troubled marriage. I would definitely recommend, especially if you have read other books by Melinda Haynes.

Haynes did another excellent job with this book. You could actually emphatize with most characters. The matron of the story (the mother of the two men) seriously needed to stop meddling in her son's lives. In the same breath she needed to develop a backbone and to stand up for herself, stop acting deaf and kick out her baby son from the nest. The eldest son who was hurt in Vietnam needed to stand up for himself and be a man. If he had continued with physical therapy a lot of his marital problems wouldn't have been an issue to begin with. I loved this book but the main characters all needed a lot of growing up to do.
