I am thirty-something but I enjoyed this book. The writing style is very charming in that she consistently stays in a cat dialogue by writing "he purred" or "she mewed" instead of "he/she said." There is also enough action to keep you turning the pages. Although written for kids, this may not be suitable for young sensitive children since some of the battles sound quite bloody. Older readers and adults will enjoy this book, which is the first in a series of several series (if that makes sense.)

Into the Wild kicks off the Warriors series. I read this book because all my friends were talking about it and I was not disappointed. The story is very interesting and once you get used the the lingo (moons, gatherings, -kit -paw -star etc.), the detailed world building really helps you to get into the story.

To be fair, there are three caveats I must mention. First, the writing is not the best in the world, with mostly minor flaws. (trying way to hard to avoid the word "said", repeating words too many times) The writing improves as the series goes on and there are no major problems. Second, as another reviewer said, the series is quite violent and might not be best for young or sensitive children. Finally, there is a LOT of characters. For some people this is a problem, though for others it just means more characters to love. There is a character list in the front.

All and all, Into the Wild is a must read for any kid 9 or 10 and up who wants an exiting adventure story that is easy to get into and provides lots to talk about and a whole series to read.

This book could have been a lot better if the characters weren't so shallow. None of them think or show reflection. Into the Wild has some creative ideas about the world from a Cat's point of view, but stumbles along predictably. I just can't get into these books! Sorry to all the Warrior Cat fans out there!

I love this series and was hooked with the first book. The first book is getting hard to find. I recommend the series to kids and adults.

32 years old reading the Warrior series and loving it. I play on a site called Mweor and while most of the people who play the game are young I have found a few older players . I would constantly see posts and mentions of FireHeart and Erin hunter.
I am so glad i decided to take a break and relax with the Warrior cats of ThunderClan.
When I was in my teens I would read Redwall and Dragonlance and I forgot how much I love books like them. This is such a refreshing series. They seem to be at a peak and are very hold to get a hold of unless you want to purchase every copy.
I purchased my first copy on ebay and the next two from the library. I am now on the forth book and I'm on a waiting list on this site and 2 local libraries. I don't know how long I can wait to start the next book. I might have to break down and purchase it. Please help me I think I have a problem ... All that said ... Great book and great series I look forward to start reading the 4th book Rising storm .
