i think this is the best of her four books.
i was already very familiar with the horrors of indian schools and was pleased with ms ault's reporting but even i have trouble believing the cruelty & thoughtless behavior was as pervasive and severe as she portrayed. at least i sincerely hope not!
that being said, i'm glad she wrote about it and i hope those not familiar with what went on in the bia and religious schools (for years and years and years) will read this and have their eyes and hearts opened.

Great story line to a point. In this edition of 'Jamaica's' adventures, Sandi excedes the line of realism with the assualts and abuse she throws at Jamaica. The Indian lure and geographical story is entertaining, but the treatment rendered on the lead character is far from acceptable.
