Excellent read! The review I wrote for Running Wild still applies to this one...

I love shifter books [although there's not a whole lot of shifting going on]. This is three novella length stories which [quite seamlessly] make up a novel. Each novella centers on a different [hot!] were hero and the process of matching him up with his heroine. The three heroines are sisters but each has her own, well-drawn 'feel' to her character. The heroes are the two brothers and a cousin who fall for them. Again, each character is distinctly drawn; no 'open plot and insert alpha hero here' stuff. Though each novella contains it's own plot, the novel has story threads reaching across them all.

What can I say? Tight action, suspense, great characters... Yep, I'm going to be looking for the rest of her stuff!

Order is important as the overall story arc [the formation and building of Haven - a non-traditional pack] continues across the series.

Running Wild
Wild Instinct

Hoping for more books in the series...

Shifter stories are my favorite. This one was ok ~ not a keeper though. After awhile the stories read the same. The sex was so tame, definitely not erotica. But if your looking for a quick read on a rainy day this is for you.

Very good shifter stories. I read this one without reading Running Wild so now I must wait for the first book that started it all.
The stories run concurrently and all come together at the end so it is really fun to read. If you like shifters this is a great series, lots of action with feisty females and hot males, my kind of book.
There have got to be more stories coming in this series, I hope sooner rather than later.

Paranormal erotic romance by Sarah McCarty, and follow up to Running Wild. Sarah Ann, part were, is trying to get to the Haven pack, with her children, and two best friends, before rogue weres find them. Sarah Ann, Teri and Rachel each get more than they bargain for, when they each find their were mates. But is there room at Haven for women who are part-were, or human? The plot is OK, the sex scenes hot. My favorite is Teri and Daire's romance. Not the best paranormal I've ever read, but pretty good. Worth a credit.

I really didn't think this book was very good. I found the women a little too aggressive and irritating. I guess the stories just left me flat. I didn't feel anything from the stories.

This was the first of Ms. McCarty's books I read. While I liked the plot and the characters, I felt as if I was reading the cliff notes version of the story.

There isn't enough background or world-building here. In addition, she leaves out huge swathes of the story.

Possibly if I had read Wild 1-3 first I wouldn't have had the same impression.

These stories are pretty good, and move fast since they're short-stories linked into one larger novel. However, her male-dominance isn't sexy--it's frightening. She attempts a shifter society like Nalini Singh's changelings--where the male is dominant, but loves & protects his mate at all costs--and she falls flat. Very very flat.

McCarty's males are "my way or the highway" abusers--they simply tell a woman NO & shut her up with force if need be--and "discipline" her if she acts out. Scary stuff in this age of abused & battered women.

She also has a sickness for ANAL SEX. It's just wrong. She ruins a perfectly good, erotic sex scene with what amounts to forcible anal rape. For any woman who's had to endure that...I feel sorry.

So I liked the books, but I was disturbed by them at the same time. Wait for them to be traded--don't buy them like I did.

Sarah McCarty is a great author. This paranormal romance follows her first book in the series (Running Wild) seamlessly. All the characters overlap to make a great story line along with a great deal of steamy scenes. I highly recommend!!!

Three connected story that makes up a whole novel. It was a good read simply because I really enjoyed the characters. The strongest story was the first (Garrett). It was well written with an actual story to it. The second one (Daire) was not as good but still intriguing. The third one (Curran) ended rather abruptly, kind of like McCarty got sick of writing and slapped on an end. There are a lot of unanswered questions but I guess it will continue as the series continue. Really having cool characters and a neat little shifter world is what saved this book. Plot-wise it is very weak. I'll still check out her other books though.

Very good book. Great continuation from last one. I liked Cur, Garrett and Daine very much. Highly recommend if you already read "Running Wild" . If not you will be a little confused.
