A great mystery from an even greater writer. I read it in a couple of hours, unwilling -- perhaps even physically unable -- to put it down.

"Wild Horses" combines the nitty gritty of making a feature length film with a 26-year-old murder mystery within the racing community of Newmarket. Fast-paced and enjoyable read with believable characters.

As usual, Francis keeps you on the edge of your seat, but he doesn't make you think too hard. An excellent "airplane" or beach book.

Thomas Lyon finally has his chance to direct a potential blockbuster, based on the true story of an unsolved crime that rocked the horse racing world twenty-six years earlier. But a cryptic deathbed confession, an assault on an elderly woman, and a frightening threat lead Lyon to pick up the thread of this unfinished tale -- and follow it through to its perilous end.
