I enjoyed the beautiful writing and the Nantucket setting. I appreciate magical realism sometimes (Alice Hoffman) but it didn't work for me here. I felt like the women's powers were a cheat used to advance the plot. I appreciated the resoultion of the ending but won't be adding this book to my keeper shelf.
