The first half of this book was veeeeerrrrry slow. The ending really picked up, but overall 4 stars because it lacked the warmth of the earlier entries in the series.
A return to the world of the Others, in a small town now managed by the vampires and wolves. They are slowly introducing humans back in, but of course bad guys are going to come with it. Pretty slow to get going, and a few too many POVs. I do like this series, mostly because of the karmic return for humans that disrespect nature...but I wonder why the Others are even bothering. Because they like the things that humans produce, I guess? Because the vampires evolved to prey on humans and so a certain population is necessary? Oh well, no matter...it's still mostly satisfying to see the world in black and white, where the evil people always get what's coming to them. There's a couple sad deaths.
