My criteria for audiobooks is completely different than for those that I actually read. Since I drive many thousands of miles a year, I look for something to listen to that is rather lightweight in either drama or humor. "Wigfield" is beyond a doubt light---r-e-a-l-l-y light. At times funny, it can also be trivial and annoying to listen to, which, I suppose is what its purpose is to begin with. Note that I am a great fan of Stephen Colbert and Any Sedaris. My fear is if I give "Wigfield" 3 or 4 stars, those on PBS who read my reviews will say that I got this one all wrong because it really is a clunker of a book. If I give it 1 or 2 stars, others will tell me to lighten up. It *is* after all, Colbert and Sedaris. What did I expect? What to do? What to do? Okay, a generous...no over-the-top generous 3 stars. Those of you who are seriousistas, you've been warned.

If you like Amy Sedaris and Stephen Colbert, you will love this audiobook. It is a quick listen and Stephen does most of the narration. Each of the three narrators speak for a whole cast of characters in the town of Wigfield. I listened to this on the way to work every morning and I laughed out loud on more than one occasion which I don't do often. I hope they do more like this one.
