Yet again, Ms. Gregory spins a lengthy tale of murder and mayhem. Matthew and Michael along with several other representatives from Michaelhouse college travel to Suffolk to accept a generous gift from a wealthy benefactor. They arrive during the Pentecost Fair and all seems pleasant and cheerful in this ville, but things, as we know, are not always as they seem. Lots of twists and turns in the story keep you guessing right until the end and yet again our heroes find themselves too close to death. Human intrigues are not new as this tale will prove once again and we all long for the perfection of the past that our memories are so good at sanitizing.
