Looking for an easy to read book on the insects, and other arthropods, that make life uncomfortable for humans? This is a good choice. Short, easy chapters that introduce you to the bad bugs of history that still "bug us." Makes a great introduction on this subject to students, especially home-schoolers.

The author also lists many of the books he referenced, and this list can serve as an entry into second-level studies for those interested in learning more.

About 10 years ago I wrote the 17-page section on "Insects and History" for the 4-volume Encyclopedia of Entomology. I wish this book had been around then, as it would have served as a great outline for developing my article.
