This is a great story that teaches us the consequences of telling a lie. A mosquito tells a lie to an iguana and this causes other events to happen. In the story we are introduced to many animals and sounds each animal makes. For example, the crow cried kaa, kaa, kaa. The story is cumulative and repeats the sequence of events as the community figures out the truth. The ending is funny as we learn why mosquitoes buzz in people's ears. The story does have a death of a baby owl so might no be appropriate for young children.
