A marvelous book that pulls you right into the story! As usual, when I have a book that I absolutely love, I'm having a difficult time finding the right words to say about this book. It's an emotional read and you just get carried along with every part of the story. It starts when a newly married Maine boatbuilder gets his WWII draft notice. His twin brother tries to talk him into trading places with him and that is the start of this story that carries over two more generations.

The story isn't just about the main characters but about this small town in Maine where the primary employment is lobstering. It's a story about love, loss, loyal friendships and family relationships. One of the best books I have read.
