I'm new to Tom Holt, but I really enjoy his writing. He has kind of a Douglas Adams like feel to his writing.

This book is a fun, relatively short story of an Archeologist who discovers a buried Viking ship and also finds the long "sleeping" vikings who set out to save the world from a powerful evil wizard.

If it sounds familier, it is, some plot parallels with "Flying Dutch" and "I thought you'd be taller".

I enjoyed this book, but I was slightly disappointed because my expectations were set very high after reading "Faust Among Equals" first - which is even more hilarious and fun! This is a fun read too, don't get me wrong.

I read the author's "Expecting Someone Taller," years ago and enjoyed it. I didn't realize he wrote this book until I found it in a thrift store. I also enjoyed this one, but I think that is because I am widely read in British mysteries and understood most of the comic references in this book. Otherwise, I think you have to be a Brit, like the author, to fully appreciate the book.

This was a funny book! I hesitate to give it away but someone else deserves to read this book too...
