Fascinating true account of a Swiss woman, Corinne Hoffmann, who travels to Kenya with her then Swiss boyfriend and becomes smitten with a Masai man. This book proves that there is love at first sight. Corinne sells her business in Switzerland and every personal possession just to move to Kenya and be with her Masai love. Despite their love, the cultural differences including the role of the woman and the living conditions compete to break them apart. Can love be enough to make the couple last? You will have to read to find out.

I have to admit that I did not realize that this was a true story of Corinne Hoffman's adventure in Kenya, falling in love with a Masai warrior and having a child with him until I reached the middle of the book and saw photographs. The story is written simply, and it might be due to the German translation to English, but if the story was not so fascinating, the book probably would not have gotten acclaim. It's worth reading, but be prepared to want to know what happened after.....
