Strong female character; very likable.
Interesting story about a girl and her relationship with a white giraffe. A fantasy story that takes place in Africa. Kind of a reverse of "The Secret Garden" where the girl lives in London and parents die. She gets sent to live with her grandmother in South Africa and doesn't feel wanted and feels alone. She makes a friend with the giraff as in "The Secret Garden" the girl makes a friend with a handicapped boy.
