This is a great read that only took me one day to get through, because I couldn't put it down! Very light and funny, you will love the main character! I cannot wait for the sequel, this is a great new author that I highly recommend!

What a fun book this was - I laughed out loud several times. I could picture each of the characters in my mind and loved each one of them for their quirks. Really hope there is a second book in the works!

Feel good chick lit. Strong resilient main character.

At first, I wasn't sure I'd get through this book. Was a little too stereotypical: wife will do whatever her husband wants, "stand by my man" type of attitude by main character LeeLee. When her husband decides he wants to quite his comfortable insurance job in Memphis, TN and buy an inn in Vermont, she agrees. She and her two daughters move to the cold, and hostile, environment. Then when their situation changes, she's left to carry on. Comfy read for summer.
This was a suprisingly excellent book. I fell in love with the characters and the way the story unfolded. There are some unexpected twists and turns that made this book one of my favorites. I highly recommend this one!
Excellent book! I could not put it down. Loved LeeLee and the friends she makes. Lisa Patton's descriptions put you in the B&B. Can't wait to read the second book!
I fell in love with this author's work when I read Rush. This novel is equally well written, fun, poignant and engaging. I couldn't wait to red the sequel, Yankee Doodle Dixie. Lisa Patton's style, her humor about Southerners and ability to create wonderful characters makes all her books page-turners for me. Very entertaining women's fiction.
Excellent chick lit, not my usual fare, but truly enjoyable. Tennessee couple relocate to Vermont to own/manage a small town Inn/Restaurant). Patton tells the story from the wife's perspective. Leelee and her southern friends made it impossible for me to put it down but then I hated for it to end. The plot develops quickly with the many humorous cultural differences of New Englanders and Southerners exposed...I was laughing out loud and couldn't wait to share some of her lines with friends and relatives. It has "screenplay" written all over it.

What a fun read. Chic lit for sure, but a really good one. Being a southerner, I could really relate to LeeLee and, like her, I would have a very hard time fitting into Vermont! What a nice change from my usual books.
Pretty banal and shallow. I didn't bother to finish it.

In the beginning, I was trying to figure out what was this book about - like was there a story even to be had? Then we got up north and I was seriously beginning to doubt there was a story but I kept on and, just before I was about to put it aside, the story emerged - Selfish husband leaves the family in the lurch for a wealthy woman. Now the story was about Leelee, who was totally out of her comfort zone as a southern lady left, literally, in the cold. As she finds her inner strength and moves forward, the story became interesting and I liked it so- I gave it a B-.
Really enjoyed the book even though I would have preferred a more heartwarming ending.

An easy read but the storyline gets a little unrealistic in terms of the relationship of the couple and how the two young children are almost perfect, despite the lack of attention from their parents.
A wonderfully fun and sweet story!
If you like books written about the South, you will love this adventure LeeLee goes one! Bless her heart, she is one tough cookie.
This is an entertaining, if uninspiring, weekend read. An unlikely storyline with little-developed characters, but still you'll like them. It's the perfect book when you want a story that will hold your attention, but won't make you think.

This actually turned out to be a pretty good book.
At first, I was angry with almost everybody in the story. I can't say why without some spoilers, but I will say that I thought that it took WAY too long for Leelee to get a backbone. (Over half the book!) Once she did, though, it made all the difference! It was like reading two different books, the first half, then the second half. So, if you're getting frustrated with the story, just stick with it, because it does get better.
I also have to say- the ending just drops you off in such a random place that it left me scrambling to the author's website to see if there was going to be a sequel. Thankfully, yes. (Yankee Doodle Dixie- release date 9-13-11.) I know I'll have to read it, because I can't just be dropped off like this. I want to know what happens!

This is a classic fish-out-of-water story. Leelee Satterfield, a true Southern belle, has a nearly perfect life. She has a happy marriage to the high school football star, two beautiful young daughters, a custom-decorated home, and a lifetime of dear friends. One day her husband presents her with the proposal that they buy an inn and move to the North ... to Vermont! Although she doesn't want to move, a Southern woman always supports her husband, so they pack up their lives and relocate to an area of the country they've never visited.
Immediately upon their arrival calamities ensue, most described in a humorous way. A big unexpected event forces Leelee to take stock of her situation and decide how she wishes to craft the future for her daughers and herself. In the end, the book has a happy and humorous ending and definitely leads into its sequel, Yankee Doodle Dixie. In the author's note, I learned that several aspects of this novel are inspired by the author's life.
