This book deserves more than the two stars it was given by other readers. However, it was not nearly as good as her debut novel, Elizabeth is Missing, which I LOVED and read twice. The problem is with the main character. The mom was VERY annoying and tiresome. She was constantly questioning and harassing her teenage daughter, demanding to be told what had happened while the girl had been missing. Every chapter was full of suspicion and conjecture about the girl's behavior. It became annoying, to say the least. Thus the low ratings. In a way, it was understandable, since the girl had depression and was in therapy for self-harm, so mom was worried. But she never lets up. Can't recommend it unless you enjoy nagging! D.
