More page turning fun - murder, chases, rescues, hidden secrets, magic, interdepartmental cooperation, and touches of London's history. I think it will make much more sense if you begin at the beginning of the series (Midnight Riot, Moon Over Soho). Peter's comments had me laughing out loud.
This series is my new favorite and this one, the third, is just as good as the last two. A new reader really should start with the beginning of the series. There's not much backstory given, and IMO it could be really confusing without knowing the setup. I loved all the bits about London architecture, and especially all the lore about the Underground. The FBI agent bit is pretty funny as well, she's pretty enterprising for being out of her element. The scene with them all getting swept down a flood in the sewers was gross and hysterical at the same time. Lesley May has potential as another good character and now it looks like Abigail will start playing a larger part. I'd like to see a bit more of Inspector NIghtingale, perhaps.
