Another good read by Maya Banks. This book is the continuation of her KGI series that revolves around the handsome, buff Kelly brothers. This is Nathan's story. While being held captive after a mission goes horribly wrong, Nathan manages to cling to life due to a beautiful stranger named Shea who communicates with him in his darkened cell. Although Nathan hears her voice in his head he never actually sees her. When Shea helps Nathan escape he is able to move forward and pick up the pieces of his life. Problem is, he wonders about the mysterious woman who rescued him and kept him alive during his captivity. When Shea surfaces and reaches out to Nathan for help, the two find themselves facing danger at every turn. This is a fast-paced read filled with twists and turns. Those who don't like paranormal might not like this since the heroine Shea communicates with Nathan telepathically and has special abilities that people are seeking to exploit. It was a good read, but the weakest in the series so far.

First of all you need to know that Banks has departed from the series, this is a paranormal romance not just an action romance. So if you don't like paranormal romance, you would probably hate this.

I hated the last book (Garrett's story) but loved the first two book. I think this one is more like the first two and I really enjoyed it. There was a lot of action and Shea and Nathan are very sweet with each other. I think the ending was a bit lame and rushed but it was still okay. The fun brotherly banter was back even with all the "f-you's."

Good, read. Looking forward to read Grace's story (maybe with Rio?).

The paranormal element really didn't work. I was ready to demand my money back by the time I finished the book.

I wasn't sure about the paranormal element in what was a romantic suspense series. I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed it. It does end with someone still missing and I assume the next book will pick up right where this one left off. I enjoy the "togetherness" in this family. They do a good job supporting each other and at the end of the day, the women hold their own as well.
My only issue (and this was present in the previous books too) is the "like a girl" comments that get thrown around at times (like you fight like a girl, you cry like a girl- I didn't write down the exact quote in this one, I will keep an eye out in future books and put the quote(s) in my review(s)). I do think it's demeaning towards women (and men) and unnecessary.

This was an okay read. I didn't find it as enjoyable as Ethan, Sam, and Garret's stories, but it was decent. I know the paranormal aspect bothered some people, but that wasn't an issue for me. I was mainly surprised at how boring the relationship between Nathan and Shea seemed. Shea was a very placid character IMO and I had no trouble putting this book down. I'll eventually read the next installment (which is out already), but I definitely don't feel any urgency.

There is not one book this series that I have not thoroughly enjoyed. Seriously can Maya Banks write a bad novel....so far NO. Her men are alphas in everything they do but at the sametime are never afraid to show their feelings to the women they love. I love the banter between all of the brothers. the brother relationship just feels incredibly real. with each novel that I read I can't wait to read the next one in this series.

The KGI series just keeps getting better. I always felt Rio was a tough on the outside teddy bear on the inside warrior. It was nice to st to know him better.
Rio takes one look at surveillance video of Shea's sister Grace and insists on taking the mission to find her and bring her home. His team finds her near death. Rio won't let her give up and lets her know she will always be safe with him.
Grace is not quite so sure she should trust Rio or his team. He takes her to his home in Belize for safety, but they are still in great danger.
Grace goes with the Titan team that has been hunting her to keep them from slaughtering Rio and his team.
Rio and the KGI rescue her but not without loss of blood.
A great addition to the series.
