This is one of Kenyon's B.A.D. books, but I mean that in a good way! As always it delivers SK signature features - fascinating characters in a page turning plot - but the overall 'feel' was slightly different. There was relatively little humor [as you find in the earlier short stories] but I'm guessing that is due to the inclusion of a coauthor. Since there is almost no info on the SK site and the link to Bureau of American Defense sends you to the Diane Snell site, I get the feeling that this series has been 'handed off'.

I think this book is getting a bad rap in the reviews. Is this book _War and Peace_? No. Obviously not. But I am one of those people who will put down a book that cannot hold my interest or I find the characters 2 dimensional or annoying. Life is too short to read a crappy book. I did not put down this book.

I found the action in both the front story and the back story interesting and fun to follow. I really like that there is a thread running all through the books about the secret society trying to control the world. I find it fun to see how they've advanced their knowledge about the evil guys. This leaves room for a new and fresh story with new characters that you get to know.

I really liked it. Worth the read if you like these kinds of books.

I enjoyed this book very much. This is the first one of the BAD books I have read so I
didn't have any certain expectations. Just that it be a good read. And as always anything
Sherrilyn Kenyon is part of is excellent.

I think I am giving up on the B.A.D series. I agree with the previous review that the series has probably been "handed off." I enjoyed the original short stories and lone book by Ms. Kenyon for the humor and slight campiness. This book isn't a bad story (in the literal sense), but it is rather grim, with some violent and somewhat graphic torture scenes, and has none of the humor of the originals. This book picks up from Phantom in the Night. If you liked that book, then you will probably like this one as well. As for me, I think I will re-read the originals.

Run of the mill spy love romance.Definately not worth the cost the oversized $15.00 costs. I have stopped liking Kenyon because her books go on and on about the past tortured male in the story, and this was better. I think the other author helped stop that negative writing, but this story was boring and I skipped lots of pages.
