On the Vegas Strip, Crystal Debrowski works security at Bali Hai Casino. Her job is made harder because as her friend Abbie Hughes Lang puts it she is a "man magnet" due to her looks although she rejects all offers. Her latest admirer Yao Long refuses to accept her declination of a sexual encounter. The Asian crime lord pulls strings, which leads to Crystal's arrest based on her employer accusing her of stealing by substituting counterfeit chips and other security glitches; all occurring during her shifts as security game manager; Yao pays her bail.

Abbie knows Crystal is innocent and asks her spouse Sam and his cronies at Black Ops Inc. (see TAKE NO PRISONERS) to help her friend. Before he can react, Yao's goons abduct Crystal taking her to his base in Jakarta, Indonesia. BOI agents led by before Texan Johnny Duane Reed mount a rescue. As they learn of Yao's human trafficking to include the apparent sale of an American general's daughter, Yao as belied by his Komodo dragon heart belief vows a fiery vengeance on those who affronted his honor.

This action-packed BOI romantic suspense thriller focuses on the entire amoral supply and demand of human trafficking as sexual slaves are a high selling commodity more than even the romance subplot. The story line is fast-paced from the onset while the key cast is fully developed. Especially interesting is Yao who believes strongly in his dragon heart that regular humans are inferior cattle to him. WHISPER NO LIES is a strong entry with a powerful deep focus on a currently thriving even with bad global economy abomination.

Cindy Gerard is a very good author and her romantic suspense stories are a good blend of military and covert operations, romance, and really, really bad guys.

The Black Ops series is a continuation of characters mentioned in her Bodyguard Series.

This book focuses on Johnny Reed, the ladies man of Black Ops and Crystal Debrowski, friend of Abbie Hughes (Take No Prisoners). While they both enjoy their affair, neither one wants or believe the other wants to be serious about their relationship. Things change when Crystal is kidnapped by an Asian bad guy who will soon make her part of a prostitution ring.

Highly recommend if you like the special forces, action and romance type books.

Cindy Gerard knows how to write riveting romantic/suspense for sure! The thrills start as soon as the book is opened and continue until the last page. The suspense aspect is believable and very well done. It was the romance aspect in this book that as a little hard to swallow. A couple of wham-bam,thank you, ma'm one night stands having been referred to, then suddenly when danger hits, they can't live without each other? Eh..... just not working as believable.

A typical roller coaster ride of sex and adventure. Of course, playboy Johnny Reed falls hard when sexpot Crystal gets kidnapped by an Indonesian mobster. The push and pull between them is what sets this one apart from others in the series. All the usual players make an appearance in the rescue. Another good installment for BOI (Black Ops Inc.)

Great action, suspense, steamy romance. The two main characters are in denial of their very strong attraction. A well connected affluent bad guy(s). Good story with substance. You can really get into the characters and their emotions.

This is the 3rd in the Black Ops series. I loved this book and the characters are great! Crystal is a strong, smart, and determined heroine and Johnny is great to once you see past the face he puts on for everyone else!

This is the best so far of the Black Op series. These books could stand alone, but I would really recommend that they be read in sequencial order; you get a better insight of the leading man's character, from the previous books.

This is the 9th book in the full series (3rd since it switched over to Black Ops). This author has steadily gotten better with each book. Her first few were a little slow but still intriguing, but now they are page turners. Once you start the book, it's hard to put it down. I can't wait for the next one!

I've been trying to pinpoint why I didn't enjoy this book very much. It has a lot going for it - great action, rescues, a strong group of heroes that you care about, and a tough heroine who sometimes rescues herself! I think my problem was that the heroine in the beginning of the story is fine with sex just for fun; she's not looking for a long term relationship. Of course, by the end she gets the happily ever after, but her starting point made the whole story feel less romantic for me. There are also some pretty graphic scenes in the human trafficking sub-plot. I prefer Suzanne Brockmann or Tara Janzen for this kind of book, but if you've read all their stuff, this is an okay second.

But then counterfeir bills mysteriously flood the gaming tables, and her reputation--and her life--are on the line.

Despite his big, flirty grin, Texas heartbreaker Johnny Duane Reed can't get sassy Crystal off his mind. When she is abducted by an international crime lord w/ a threatening obsession, Reed enlists his Black Ops, Inc. team to pursue a dangerous mission to rescue her.

Between Crystal and Johnny burns a scorching flame, but as they battle her relentless abductor, they uncover a malicious arms trafficking and white slavery ring. Together, they must destroy the tyrant's wicked enterprises or face his reign of terror themselves...

Crystal Debrowski has been working as a floor supervisor at a Las Vegas casino when she is accused of putting counterfeit money into play and stealing from the house. Her friends believe she is innocent and delve into who could be behind the counterfeit money. When Crystal is kidnapped and spirited away to Indonesia, Johnny Duane Reed believes international crime lord Yao Long is behind Crystal's problems and her disappearance. He travels to Jakarta to rescue Crystal and enlists his Blacks Ops, Inc. buddies to help him take down Yao Long.

This romantic suspense series gets better with each book.
The romance in this book is strong. We met both Crystal and Johnny in the previous book of the series. Johnny is a love 'em and leave 'em with a smile on their face type guy. His casual relationship with Crystal is exactly what they are both looking for. Crystal has given up on a series relationship and just wants a good time. She is very tough and holds her own with the Black Ops team. She's not a woman who constantly needs rescuing.

The action in this book never lets up. Johnny and his team find that Yao Long is an arms dealer whose side business is human trafficking. Not only do they have to find Crystal, but also get out of Indonesia without Long's army of soldier's finding them. My rating: 4.5 Stars.
