Pretty good story with relatable characters. The writing could be better, but it's not terrible (it just seems that the author was working way too hard to work in 1920s slang and fashion descriptions).
The ending leaves enough doubt to allow for a sequel, but not enough to drive readers crazy with questions.

I picked up this novel by Ann Howard Creel because I loved the Hallmark movie "The Magic of Ordinary Days" also a novel by Creel. Most Hallmark movies are a bit cheesy and I really can't watch them these days but this one was made in the early 2000's when Hallmark did make some quality movies. Keri Russell starred in the movie and is an outstanding actress. She is in the FX series "The Americans" which has been excellent mystery and intrigue. Anyway, "The Whiskey Sea" was just OK for me - a bit soap opera-ish and that sort of writing just bores me.
