A truly different type of book for Sala, but it was really great!! I look forward to following them on their travels.

This is one of her earlier books. It was good, and had a good story line and plot, but I like her later ones best. More mystery.

This book is hilarious! It is quite a deviation from Sharon Sala's usual book, but her good writing and character development is there. Eulis the town drunk, Letty the whore, the gentleman gambler Jim and, of course, the preacher with a fatal (literally) flaw are all believable. I got so caught up in their stories and the unfolding of the story that I just couldn't put it down. There were the serious backgrounds that brought them to where they were in the desolate Lizzard Flats somewhere out west that would bring anyone to tears. But I laughed and laughed as the story played out right on to the happy ending. Thank you, Sharon, for something different.

rip-roaring good story. Sala trying a different line of stories has a hit with this one. there are several mini-stories that are brought together when they get to Lizard Flats. Letty, the town whore is kind of the center of the whole thing it starts with her and ends with her and there's alot of in between but it good way to pass a rainy day.

When a wealthy widow agreed to marry Alfonso Worthy he sent for a preacher to come out to the small town of Lizard Flats in the Kansas Territories to preform the ceremony. It was such a simple thing that should never have caused the chaos it did! Reverend Randall Ward Howe had only one vice; women. Since he could not stop sinning he jumped at the chance to leave town, FAST, and travel to Lizard Flats. Too bad he could not remain celebrate during the journey either. The reader gets the pleasure of seeing HOW several other people come about needing the various services of a preacher. Each began traveling to Lizard Flats. But it entire story really began and ended with Leticia "Letty" Murphy who worked at the White Dove Saloon and listened each night for the call of the Whippoorwill.
