I am always torn when it comes to collections like this. They always feature characters that we have grown attached to in other full length books, but the treatments are so short that sometimes they seem very abrupt and involve too much telling and not enough showing. I think that is true in this case. How could we not want to read Ned Blydon's story? He has appeared in several of Quinn's books and is a wonderful character. His story is very much a Quinn story, all the elements are there, but it is too rushed and you can't help but feel that Ned got short-changed. The same is true of the other stories, by Kleypas and MacGregor/Kenyon. These are characters that readers care about, so their stories should not be abbreviated for the sake of a compilation. As a reader, I felt cheated.

All that being said, this is still one of the better compilations out there. If you loved any of these characters, you will want to know what happened to them and how they found happiness. But don't count on feeling particularly satisfied. Informed? yes. Content? no.

I only requested this book because of Lisa Kleypas and the fact that this is a continuance of Derek and Sara's story. I was not disappointed. Reading about Lydia Craven was the best 1/2 hour I ever had at reading a book.

I loved these 3 novellas! I got the book to read Lisa Kleypas' story about Jake Linley, an intriguing and sexy minor character in some of her historicals ... and I wasn't disappointed, but I thoroughly enjoyed the other 2 stories as well!

For a Lisa Kleypas fan, this book was a disappointment. It was nice to read about Derek and Sara Craven again, and hear a bit of what happened to their family. But the characters just couldn't quite get their due in the space of such a short story. The whole thing felt rushed and the romance never really clicked.

However both the Kinley MacGregor (aka Sherelyn Kenyon) and Julia Quinn stories were pretty good - a better representation of their work and the authors' style than the Kleypas story. I haven't read any of the Highlander books by Kenyon as MacGregor and now I probably will.

Overall not a bad sampling of three very good authors, although I think it represents Kleypas quite poorly.

Three excellent authors wrote fun Regency novellas of characters they had introduced in an earlier book but did not develop. Two of these, Julia Quinn and Lisa Kleypas, are on my "read every book list" so I really loved to read more about their characters!

This book introduced me to Julia Quinn, which has been a very good thing. The Kinley MacGregor portion tells Simon's story from the Brotherhood of the Sword series. Julia Quinn does Ned Blydon, Belle's brother. Both enjoyable pieces.

The Kinley Macgregor book was the best one to me. She also writes paranormal under the name of Sherrilyn Kenyon. She does just as good under this name with her historicals. LOVED IT!!

The book has 3 stories whose heros were secondary characters in other stories. The authors received lots of mail for each of them asking "But what happened to . . .?" However each is also a separate story unto itself. You don't need to have ready the first book to enjoy the sequel.

I love these little short novels. Nice quick reads. My favorite was the Julia Quinn and Lisa Kleypas. If you have read the Derek Craven series or the Bow Street Runners by Lisa Kleypas this is a must read.

This romance anthology contains three stories:

Against the Odds by Lisa Kleypas - Bluestocking Lydia Craven believes the probability of falling in love is very low. But when she is locked in the wine cellar with Dr. Jake Linley, she just might change her mind. Cute story that suffers from the short length.

Midsummer's Knight by Kinley MacGregor - Lady Kenna falls in love with the man who answered her letters, only to find out he is Simon of Ravenswood, a common knight who is below her station. I just couldn't get into this story and eventually gave up reading it.

A Tale of Two Sisters by Julia Quinn - Ned Blydon must marry. With no prospective bride, he proposes to his next door neighbor, Lydia. The engagement is going smoothly until Ned meets and falls in love with Lydia's younger sister, Charlotte. Now it's too late to call off the wedding. Cute story, but the ending is too obvious.

I recommend the Kleypas and Quinn stories for people who have read the previous books in the series where the characters originated. My rating: 3.5 Stars.

I read this for Kinley MacGregor but I actually ended liking her story the least. Simon was just lacking for me as a character, a bit of a pansy, even though I enjoyed him in the other books. Regardless it was still a decent read.

I've never read Julia Quinn and Lisa Kleypas but I enjoyed both the stories immensely. They were fun with great humor. I will definitley look into reading more books by them.

I'm usually leary of anthologies because I always feel rushed or feel like something was left out, but this was very well done.

**So many reviewers expressed EXACTLY the same feelings as I have regarding compilations from even the very BEST AUTHORS, award winners tho' they may be. We all feel that rushed to completion, shorter story about characters so endearing, they deserve MORE. "Where's My Hero" includes 2 of my fave writers and though it was good, I was hoping for more in the "wonderfully fulfilling" range. Alas, that honor would still go to another collection also including Julia Q, but sadly not Lisa K.(a dynamic duo to be sure)but two other writers I'd thought weren't as good. Imagine my surprise when Eloisa James and Connie Brockway spun a seamless tale combining all their talents so wonderfully! It bubbles with mirth (I'd never heard it called a pump handle before ;~P )and clever mini-plots with engaging, well-developed characters and a satisfying, all-encompassing conclusion so hilarious you could almost feel the effects of much too much champagne. A 4.9-star gem!
