Ms. Henry is one of my favorite authors. This is a beautifully written story - lyrical with wonderful imagery. The mood, the setting, the characters wrapped themselves around me and I felt transported to the Lowcountry. A very satisfying read.

Sometimes, when life gets dull and repetitive we look for ways and reasons to escape. Where the River Runs is a story of a 40 something woman who is beginning to question the life she is leading. A phone call from her mother brings up some old demons that must be beaten before she can realize that what she has and who she is is truly what was destined to be.

Also wrote "Losing the Moon". Takes place in South Carolina Lowcountry, about a woman who goes back home to face the past -- and discover herself.
This book was wonderful! Story evolves around a woman who has lost herself because of a terrible accident at a graduation party. As she begins the journey of finding herself, she learns many truths about not only herself but also about family, and a culture that helped her uncover what she has kept hidden not only from herself but from all around her for so long.
a tragic fire and a long-kept secret affect many in a Southern Lowcountry town
Excellent story about how lifelong friendships remain in your heart forever!
