I really enjoyed this book, but beware it is nothing like the movie. The story follows Lindsey Tarlington as the past gets brought back to life. Seventeen years prior Lindsey's mother was murdered, and now clues are starting to resurface. Lindsey takes matters into her own hands and begins and investigation to find out who really murdered her mother. This book kept me guessing and turning the pages to figure out exactly who did it. A very intriguing read.

The characters, storyline and overall feeling felt very wooden is this romance novel. I don't know if the author wanted to spend more time in the suspense section or just wanted to hurry up and get the story finished. It seemed like she spent a little time trying to give some life to the characters, but instead it turned them into lifeless props with balloon saying over their heads when they are thinking something. The suspense was not predictable every time but neither was it an enjoyable payoff. Again, my first book that I can remember reading by this author and I would read her again. Just not with these characters.

This story is very intriguing, sad, and loving with questions of the past and haunting memories making the future unpredictable to the last chapter (249 pages).
