Tyora Moody's debut novel, WHEN RAIN FALLS, was as bright and bubble as her true personality. I had the opportunity to meet Tyora in Memphis, TN at a book fair, and fell in love with the plot of her novel as she discussed it on a panel. What I liked most was that she described it as a mystery, but it was classified as Christian fiction. I found that to be an unbelievable marriage; but, after reading it I see that it was a match made in heaven.
This novel opened with a complete shocker. The murder of a prominent attorney turns this novel on it's head, and I was hooked. Being hooked in mystery novel is key and the story typically must be plot driven. But I was wrapped into Candance's role from top to bottom. I kept looking to be beat over the head by bible versus and church and it never came. But it I was taken through a neat and tidy murder investigation and I am looking for part 2 in the Victory Gospel series.
