The first book of Cindy Woodsmall made me NOT want to miss this second book. As soon as it was available I rushed over to BORDERS and got my fresh, new copy. I am reading it now, and am not disappointed. Isn't the cover beautiful? But inside it's also very good. I'll complete my review when I'm done with the book.
I was disappointed that this book's conclusion was up in the air! But I did read and savor every word. It's a grand book, and I love the characters. Can't wait to read the conclusion (?) in book three. Amazing that this author is a new one. She really writes well.

I am anxious to read the third and final book in the series, "Sisters of the Quilt". Cindy researched the Old Order Amish well, and incorporated so many of their traditions, and values into the book. I read this book quickly, and was sorry when I was finished. If you enjoy reading Amish literature from Wanda Brunstetter, or Beverly Lewis, you will not be disappointed by Cindy Woodsmall either.

TALK ABOUT A CLIFF HANGER! Dudette, you can not just leave me hanging like this, I don't know how I'm suppose to make it to September! Ugh!

This book was really great, better than the first, and I really enjoyed that one. There is real issues that are tough on life and hard, but there is goodness. There are more characters to fall in love with in this book and the personalities are so real and so great, that you do not know who to love more as a reader and feel just as confused as the character and then realize the things that you know that she/he doesn't and your heart breaks for them, but you still do not know which would be better! I could not read this book fast enough to find out what happens and each part is really unexpected and fascinating. I earnestly cannot wait for the next book!

In this book Hannah Lapp leave Pa and goes to Ohio in search for her Aunt Zabeth. In the process of finding her she find a new life and herself in the process. She starts to understand that the rape that happened to her in the first book and all that happened because of it was not her fault. I think that this book is a good book for anyone to read to help then understand themselves better. You also Get more in site in to Hannah's sister Sarah. It does not leave the people that you met in Pa out of this book you still get to see what is going on in their lives too.

In my opinion this story is being wonderfully weaved and getting a whole lot more complicated. It is a great book though. I can hardly wait until the last book comes out!

Loved the entire series, one story leads to the next book. If you like Amish you will get something out of these books. Stories about redemption and forgiveness. Highly recommend.

I don't know what to say about this series. I enjoy Amish books (and I liked the first book in this series) but I don't like how many of them romanticize the Amish. That being said I also don't like how everyone in this series has a major crisis going on in their life! The many plot twists and all the drama left me feeling exhausted, not inspired. I'm going to read the third book in this series simply because I hate starting something and not finishing it, but I'm not holding out high hopes. The story is starting to get predictable. It's like watching a horror movie with shadows and creepy music. You just KNOW something awful is about to happen. Also, and this is just my opinion, but this is hardly what I would consider true Christian fiction. It strikes me more as fiction with an occasional mention of God, and that isn't the same thing. I'm not trying to discourage anyone from reading it. Everyone's tastes are different. This series just hasn't been what I expected it to be.

I loved the stories the Cindy Woodsmall spun surrounding the Amish families and the "Englishers" that touched their lives. Their simple lives are not always so simple.

An young girl Amish girl who is raped and has a dead baby decides with the help of her friend Matthew and his mother to leave the Amish community who have turned against her. Matthew takes her to the train station and gives her $2000 to live on until she finds Aunt Zabeth. Hannah passes out and hemorrhages from her unmedically followed childbirth. She almost dies and becomes friends with DR Lehman who becomes a true friend to her. Aunt Zabeth is very kind to her and she mets Martin Palmer. Both of them encourage her to get her GED, drive a car, and go to nursing school. She becomes part of their family. She also goes to the rape crisis center and gets help with her rape. She also goes to work for DR Lehman in a clinic that handles plain women giving birth and she answers their medical questions with DR Lehman's help.Hannah is beginning to enjoy the English life. This is a wonderful book.It really tugged on my heartstrings for young Hannah. My heart aches for her.She is such a sweet young woman.
