This was my least favorite in the series so far. It had some strong points, and it fit in the series. Carole Jefferson is a made up person for this series, and several different authors take turns writing these. This one was just different! For one thing, I knew all along how the main "mystery" was going to turn out, though in most of this series, there are intriguing plot twists at the end that do surprise me. Another problem with this book is that in order to tell this story, Sadie keeps sitting down and reading her journal from when she was in college. But the supposed journal entries are in third person! Oh, except for the last few. Just when I finally got over the absurdity of third-person journal entries, suddenly the rest of them were in first person. Fortunately there was a side mystery going on that did have some plot twists and showed excellent insight into the problem of bullying in high school.
