This was an interesting book, and I'd say an unusual book for those of us used to reading spiritual books that give you ten steps towards divine perfection. It took me two years to read through this book because I'd nibble on a bit, put it down, come back for more in a few months. Maybe it's due to where I was in my life when I did read it, but every time I read it-something resonated deeply with me and it helped put words towards what was going on inside of me. I highly recommend this book for women going through their mid-years transition stage.

This book overall was very melodramatic to me. I felt it difficult to relate to her "pain" because I didn't really know what it was. Maybe this was because the point of the book is to see how she dealt with her "pain" and what her journey was to work through her crisis. I found it hard to get through the book even though there were bits and pieces that were insightful. I just had to wade through a lot to get to those bits.
