Since I moved right down the street from where this took place I found the story to be very interesting. The telling of the story kept my interest but the narrative was somewhat juvenile (author kept using phrase "Falmouth Fox" as if to strike terror into the reader!) Definately a good read for locals!

Talk about a town being run by a bully and on Cape Cod no less. Just the thought that any of us are subject to this kind of life in our own neighborhood, sends shivers up the spine. Michele R. McPhee superbly describes a town paralyzed by one man who nonetheless gets his final deserts. A hard to put down story.

McPhee does excellent research for this book, I'm going to look for her other books. A sad commentary on semi-organized crime and govt cover-ups in Falmouth, Cape Cod that is tied to Boston, NJ, etc. The author also does a terrific job of shining light on those few heroes who were/are unafraid to stand up for justice even at their own personal risk, making the book well balanced and less depressing than if she just concentrated on the negativity of the crimes and coverups.
