This is a fantastic display of modern American short stories. His meticulous yet economic choice of words make it a unique blend of frankness and metaphor. My favorite story from this volume was "Viewfinder."
"Viewfinder," the second story in the collection, is unforgettable. Anatole Broyard reviewed this book in NY Times April 15, 1981.
