I loved this novel. I found myself reading as fast as i could to get to the next page, but then i am drawn to depression and true based stories. Dale, the one son that got a chance in life due to a drunken fathers decision to remove him from the home and nasty heartless mother figure, was such a gem to be cherished. He tried so very hard and learning to live when your roots aren't there-- is like trudging up hill all day long, everyday. The Uncle & Aunt i loved dearly and this book gives sadness, longing, hope and bravery alot of meaning.
